Library News & UPDATES

Updated October 19, 2020

We encourage you to follow us on Facebook and Instagram where we are posting Story Time with Miss Sandy, Qi Gong with Randy, and all the latest news as we get it.

In a proactive response to the heightened concerns about the rapid spread of the coronavirus, the Monson Free Library is cancelling all scheduled library programs and outreach, including all individual or group events that have reserved our community room until further notice.  We are not accepting donations of any kind and we ask that you do not leave anything other than library materials in our book drop.

When you can’t get to the Library:

Curbside Pick-Up is now available!  Click HERE for details!

Now is a good time to start using all the great digital resources we have available to you. We recommend Hoopla and Overdrive/Libby for ebooks, audiobooks and magazines.  Hoopla also offers music, comics, movies and tv.  RBdigital is great to use for IndieFlix, Qello, Acorn TV,  Great Courses etc.  All you need is a Monson Free Library card and we are happy to help you!

Looking to do some research or read the newspaper? Check out the long list of databases.

If you don’t have a library card:

First, please call or email us and we will try and work with you to get you a card that will access all our resources.  413-267-3866 or hbodwell@cwmars.org

CWMARS has partnered with Overdrive (the Libby app) to allow people to get a free digital card that is good for one year and with the card you can access all Overdrive has to offer….ebooks, audio, and magazines for all ages.  Click HERE to see how you can get an instant digital card.

The MFL has partnered with Hoopla Digital to bring you Hoopla Engage. This allows only residents of Monson (without a current library card) to access Hoopla for the month of April.  You are allowed 20 checkouts per valid email address. A great way for the family to access ebooks, audio, comics, movies, tv and music!

What about the items I have out or the items I have on hold:
